moved

I posted this article last year and I finally decided to follow it. Last week I moved to DFW. It’s great. Biggest career move in my life. 24 years of life that is. I am in love with the possibilities yet to come. However at the same time scared that I may blow it. God, don’t let me blow it.

Surprise SKI TRIP 2010!

No, I did not go to the South Pole. Vegas is my favorite part of the holidays. To see all the Christmas decorations makes the holiday come alive. This picture was taken at the Bellagio in their huge atrium that they always decorate to the season. Although my trip was short, it was still great. I got to see Terry Fator, past winner of America’s Got Talent, La Reve (for the 2nd time) and even ran into Slash from Gunz & Roses. I didn’t know who he was but did find out that he was rude after he refused to take a picture with me after asking over dinner. Although I did not win it big like last time I was there I did have a great time and saw some friends.

I wish there were a direct flight to paradise. If there was, it would be to Dominican Republic. But there isn’t. Instead I had to fly from MFE to DFW to MIA to PUJ. If you don’t speak airport code lingo, get with the program. During the layover in MIA I went to visit DASH, one of three stores started by the Kardashian sisters. There, one of the workers was actually on the show, she was very nice to us.

Punta Cana was amazing. Second best beach I have been too next to Bonaire. Besides exploring Miami, four wheeling in the Dominican jungle, and buying cheap coffee and alcohol in a sketchy part of town, it was a great place to relax and unsocialize. The best part of the trip was all of the frequent flier miles earned.

Now I know where I want to move to: New York… only if I can fly to Texas in my jet on the weekends. No more public transportation, i’m tired of feeling raped. Last month I flew to New York on a whim. Cristine surprised me in College Station over the weekend therefor that next Tuesday I jumped in a plane to reciprocate the feeling. I had never been there before so it was quit an experience. Much to busy for me. In the valley we are always thirty minutes behind, in New York they are one hour ahead… literally.
Wednesday morning I had it planned that Katie would wake me up early so that I could stand in line to watch Regis & Kelly (its on the bucket list). As I expected, I fell right back to sleep. When turning on the TV to watch it Live in NYC I was depressed to see Taylor Swift there. We could’ve been. Rather I spent the day walking the streets of NYC constantly looking for a place to charge my phone, and searching for some one famous.
Other than that I got to eat dinner with my friend Liz, hang out with Stine & Katie, discuss politics with a former US Congressman, Eat at Shake Shack, appear on the conspiracy website abovetopsecret.com, see Jimmy Fallon, and appear on Access Hollywood. I think I should go again sometime soon.

Is the stuff we learn today worth our time for tomorrow? Or will it all be outdated and unimportant. With the world growing faster by the minute, how do we keep up? Can we?

I love rainy days… they just don’t love me. Today I was driving my toaster (ford focus that Rebe named) down 10th street while it was down pouring rain. 10th street is one of the busiest roads in McAllen, it is the address of 4 out of the 5 Starbucks located in the city. Much to my dismay I was driving along the side of the road which has poor drainage causing my car to stall. I was able to steer it to the middle of the road to keep the water from seeping my floor mats. Thirty minutes later my dad came and pushed me to a parking lot away from danger. Hours later I attempted to save my car but due to the wet spark plug it failed to start again. I guess I will just have to get another car that wont put me in a hazard zone ever again.
